I Love You

The Neighborhood - 2013

Indie trip-hop darlings The Neighborhood have been gaining popularity since their 2012 EP, I'm Sorry, which spawned international hit Sweater Weather. Personally, the track and the EP as a whole is of quality and I was looking forward to the band's first full length, where i thought that their signature blend of indie pop, R&B, and trip-hop could amount to an album that vaunts them into the elite, alongside bands such as Vampire Weekend and Grizzly Bear. Unfortunately, I Love You was instead a bland, repetitive, and mediocre effort in which every song sounded the same. It did nothing but please the core fan base of the group, which consists mostly of girls ages 13-17, and while The Neighborhood didn't go backwards on I Love You, they sure as hell didn't go forward. Favorite songs: Female Robbery, Sweater Weather least favourite songs: W.D.Y.W.F.M, Flawless Most overrated song: Afraid Most underrated song: Female Robbery
