I Love You, Honeybear

Father John Misty - 2015

There is much to admire about Fleet Foxes.  One of the most important aspects of the group is that they haven’t been able to release many albums.  Also, they weren’t able to keep their grubby hands on former member Josh Tillman.

Honeybear is his second album and it’s a remarkable outing.  The instrumentation is kaleidoscopic.  Tillman’s delivery is rich and smooth.  The lyrics are clever and often sensationally sarcastic.  This witty and melodic  album feels as though it comes to you as the love child of Elton John and Warren Zevon.

Let’s hope Tillman’s brand of peculiarity isn’t Fleeting.

this album is fucking unbelievable. An Ideal Husband and Nothing Good Ever... are some of the best art-folk i've ever heard

It's fantastic! "The Night Josh Tillman Came To Our Apartment" is my current favorite.
