Be Careful What You Wish For . . .
Chris Cornell - 2015
And so, diehard fans got the acoustic album they always wanted but didn’t think to fear. Cornell’s voice remains as moving as it did years ago but the songwriting and production are simply embarrassing. Gone are the enthralling melodies, interesting harmonies, and intriguing lyrics. Instead, the formula here is so simple minded that it leaves you spinning right round. Each and every (EVERY) track begins and ends that same. Chris comes in with a promising acoustic opening that ends with a cheesy pop finale. This whole experience smacks of Jack White. We had an artist that blazed an incredible path but somehow lost his way.C. Scott Back
