Post Pop Depression

Iggy Pop - 2016

I'm a sucker for an album by an older artist that captures something original from them, even after decades of output. Iggy has always morphed from one being to the next throughout his career, and Post Pop Depression is no exception. I gather most of the credit should probably go to Josh Homme, since the sound has Josh's tone all over it. (Every one of Josh's side projects can be spotted from a mile away, even while all sounding unique) I guess you could call this a rock record, although I struggle to categorize it at all. Let's just create an Iggy category and stick it there.
