Cat power the greatest

The Greatest

Cat Power - 2006

Tambe and I used to laugh our tails off at this ridiculous acoustic-toting, alternative, drippy-hippy. I mean she put out an album where she sang to trees!

It came with an accompanying DVD of her wandering around for two and a half hours singing at trees for God's sake!! Be that as it may never let it be said that C. Scott wasn't a man to change his mind. Sometimes on regular five minute basis.

The Greatest features a world class Memphis soul backup group and Ms. Power channels all the late night, defeated enchantedness of the late, great Dusty Springfield.

After yodling at the trees, this was a mind-blowing aristic evolution.

Highlights: Lived in Bars (reflective smoky vocal with a brilliant double time ending featuring some background shoo-beh-doo's? )

Where is My Love? (Did you know she's the new face of Chanel?)

Willie (She really did Dusty right on this album)
