Nicki Minaj - 2018

If you could get rid of at least seven of the nineteen tracks, you would have a phenomenal rap album. That's not to say that seven of the tracks are of poor quality, it's just no artist can hold your attention for that long unless they do some genre jumping, which Minaj most certainly does not. She mixes up the grooves, the bpms, has her different character voices, raps, sings (and yes, she is decent singer), and is lyrically on fire throughout, but as every song can safely be housed in the rap genre, she loses steam. A great act can only sustain greatness for so long, and she overextends herself here. It's a shame, because there are so many good songs on Queen, though it could have easily have done without Chun Swae, Nip Tuck, and Come See About Me.

Highlights: Majesty (ft. Eminem <-- his best verse ever?), Ganja Burn, Chun-Li
