A Real Romantic
Eliza - 2018
She dropped the "Doolittle" and dropped the quirky-pop act that defined her as an artist over the course of her first two albums, and now she's just Eliza, reinvented as a sensual and soulful songstress. The entire album is laid-back but somehow deeply exciting and moving, perhaps so because the listener is baring witness to an amazing musical metamorphosis. To change style so absolutely takes confidence and conviction, and that's what makes this album so sexy. Her voice was destined to find this music, and the only disappointment to A Real Romantic is that it's only nine tracks long (with one being a mere interlude).
Highlights: Livid, Wasn't Looking, Wide Eyed Fool, All Night
